Moong Dal Pakoda

A delicious snack made with deep fried ground yellow lentils.

Moong Dal Pakoda

Ingredients

  • 1 cup moong dal
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch ginger
  • 2 green chillies
  • some coriander leaves
  • oil for deep frying

Preparation

  1. Soak the moong dal in water overnight.
  2. Wash it well the next morning and drain out the water completely.
  3. Grind it by adding the garlic, ginger, and slowly add water till the batter is absolutely smooth.
  4. Just before frying, add salt, pepper, green chillies and dhania and mix the batter.
  5. Add oil to a pot and set it on a medium-high flame.
  6. Take spoonfuls of the batter and drop it into the oil. Be careful not to let the oil splash. Fry until it browns into a round pakoda.
  7. Drain the oil and serve with tomato sauce.
